Okay guys this is going to be the first of quite a few drabbles I've done for NCIS_verse. This is the one I like the least, but here you go.
I don't own anything related to NCIS/NCIS LA.
Title: Coffee
Character(s)/Pairings: Gibbs
Rating: K+?
Word Count: 213
Leroy Jethro Gibbs didn’t always drink coffee. When he was younger he actually didn’t even like the taste. Shannon, once they married, would have a cup every morning full of so much cream and sugar that he wondered why she bothered with the coffee at all. He would have a cup with her, but still wasn’t addicted to the taste. When Kelly came along they would get up and have a cup together before she would wake up.
Then his wife and daughter were murdered and he came home from the war to an empty house. He couldn’t sleep. Every time he closed his eyes he saw Shannon and Kelly. Sometimes he saw them as he remembered them, happy and alive. Then sometimes he saw them mangled and broken as they must have been after the car hit them. He never wanted to close his eyes.
He stopped being able to function. He would drink a whole pot of coffee, just so that he could keep his eyes open. He started to crave coffee, but he never wanted to sweeten it with cream or sugar, feeling the bitterness suited him better. He also appreciated the coffee cup giving his hands something to do when he couldn’t be in his basement building his boat.
